We do both halves.
Apextra is a small Auckland studio. We build websites for New Zealand businesses, and the systems underneath them.
Why we exist
Getting someone to your website is the visible half. What happens after is the quiet half: the enquiry that arrives at 10pm, the order that gets re-typed into three systems, the spreadsheet nobody owns.
That quiet half is where small businesses actually lose money, so that is the half we decided to keep.
Why we only show live work
Everything on this site is live and in use. Three real sites say more than thirty concepts, and you can click through to each one and judge for yourself.
The AI on our own homepage is the same build we ship to clients.
How we work
Small team, direct contact. The person who scopes your project is the person who builds it. There is no account manager relaying messages, because at this size that would just be a slower way to get things wrong.
Most of the money is lost at the join. That is why we do both sides of it.
How we operate
You own everything
Domain, code, hosting, ad accounts, analytics. In your name from day one, not on request at the end.
We report outcomes
Booked jobs, revenue, hours saved. Impressions and open rates are diagnostics, not results.
We will tell you not to buy something
If off-the-shelf fits, buy off-the-shelf. If a channel is not earning, turn it off. That conversation happens early and out loud.
No lock-in
Leaving should be a decision, not a negotiation. Nothing about how we set things up is designed to make it hard.
Tell us what is not working.
A 30-minute call, then a one-page diagnosis in writing within two working days: what we would do first, and whether you need us at all.
